Kennedy Stays with Phillies After Clearing Waivers

Infielder Buddy Kennedy, recently designated for assignment by the Philadelphia Phillies, has chosen to remain with the organization. After going unclaimed on waivers, Kennedy elected free agency instead of an outright assignment but swiftly re-signed with the Phillies on a minor league contract. This decision will see him report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Kennedy's journey with the Phillies began last June via a trade with the Tigers. Despite a brief major league stint, he excelled in Triple-A, posting impressive offensive numbers.
