 Ace pitcher Corbin Burnes remains one of the top talents left on the free-agent market. However, his market has developed slowly, particularly when compared to the brisk pace at which other starting pitchers have signed contracts.
According to MLB.com, Burnes is seeking a deal worth at least $245 million, which would match the seven-year, $245 million deal Stephen Strasburg signed in December 2019—making it the third-highest guaranteed contract in history for a starting pitcher.
