The New York Yankees are looking to strengthen their bullpen depth with additional left-handed pitchers, as Max Fried and Carlos Rodon are currently the only lefies on the 40-man roster. Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the team is exploring several options, including a potential reunion with Tim Hill.
Hill struggled with a 5.87 ERA in 23 innings while with the White Sox, leading to his release in June. The Yankees promptly signed him to a new contract, and the change of scenery worked wonders for Hill. During the regular season, he delivered an impressive 2.05 ERA across 44 innings, and he maintained that success in the playoffs with a 1.08 ERA* over ten appearances. The Yankees are optimistic that Hill can continue to provide much-needed left-handed depth for their bullpen. His ability to perform under pressure and deliver solid results makes him a valuable asset.
