The New York Yankees have added another star to their roster by signing former MVP first baseman Paul Goldschmidt to a one-year, $12.5 million contract.
Goldschmidt, 37, brings a wealth of experience and accolades to the team. The 2022 National League MVP and four-time Gold Glove winner spent the past six seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals. Although he experienced a slight decline in performance last season, with a .716 OPS, 22 home runs, and 65 RBIs, his numbers against left-handed pitchers remained strong, making him a valuable asset for the Yankees.
